Dot Gain is a factor in any type of printing, but more so in silk screen printing than offset paper printing. When ink passes through a screen and lays down on the garment, it expands slightly in all directions. In most cases, the dot gain change to the printed designis so small that it is not noticiable. Only when a design has thin gaps, small letters or halftones set at a high percentage will image quality suffer. In these cases, we will make changes to the artwork and adjust for the dot gain in your design.

| Did You Know? Tackle twill is another term used for appliqué embroidery. This kind of embroidery is much more difficult to produce, so few embroidery companies offer it. Kustom Imprints is a leader in appliqué / tackle twill embroidery and would love to do work for you too! |
