Also called CMYK, this printing process is the art of blending four separate colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black) to achieve a simulation of a full color design. This printing method is very common in offset printing. It can also done in silk screen printing, however the image resolution (dpi) is much more coarse.
Pluses - Unlimited colors in the screen print design - Photographs with many colors can often be better represented with a 4-color process design. Negatives - 4-color Process inks are often not as opaque as standard screen print ink, and the end result imprint is not as bright. - No assurance that colors will exactly match original design - Fine details in the artwork often get lost or blurred - Set-Up cost is expensive (Between $150.00 to $600.00) |
