Gildan Corporation's Environmental Policy
Many of the custom screen printed t-shirts & sweatshirts Kustom Imprints sells are printed on Gildan Brand. Occasionally we have had customer inquires if our shirts are produced environmentally safe. The below text is Gildan Corporation Environmental policy.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Gildan, a rapidly growing manufacturer and marketer of high-quality activewear, is committed to protecting the environment and conserving natural resources. We believe that applying sound environmental management practices contributes to our competitive strength, benefits our employees, customers and shareholders, and improves the quality of life of the communities in which we operate. To guide us in achieving our environmental goals, Gildan has adopted the following principles.
- Comply with applicable environmental legislation and regulations and to other requirements to which Gildan subscribes
- Minimize the environmental impacts of our operations through effective pollution prevention programs
- Set environmental objectives and targets and periodically evaluate our environmental performance
- Ensure continuous improvement of our environmental management system and environmental performance
- Train our employees to ensure that they acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs with respect to the environment
- Communicate our environmental management programs to all employees and to the Board of Directors and make our environmental policy available to the public
- Encourage our suppliers and contractors to adopt sound environmental management practices
- Consider environmental issues in all business decisions, including expansion, renovation and acquisition activities
- Include environmental management among our highest corporate priorities. In order to ensure full implementation of this policy, Gildan is committed to respect its Environmental Management System, which was developed in accordance with environmental best practices and the respects of laws and regulations to ensure protection of the environment.
